Looking good. It seems your experience with the dip is similar to my own.
I found that having a brush nearby to dab off excess dip and move the pools around was essential. I also used gloves and shook the dipped models after the were submerged and coated. I did all of this outside of course, you don't want stain flying around indoors! Good luck finishing the rest.
