How do you guys build "naked" Ogres?

I want to build my Ogres "naked" (i.e, no additional hand weapons or ironfists, club only) but the sprues only allow parts for iron fists or additional hand weapons. I know a lot of people use naked Ogres, so how?

I was thinking that the options were a) convert them (probably just remove the weapons and mess around with the hands a bit) or b) build them with ironfists or other weapons and claim that they aren't using them.

What do you guys do?

Either is valid. I personally just built them with 2 hand weapons and clipped one off (so you'd have each Ogre with a weapon and a clenched fist).

I build all of mine with ironfists and just let my opponent know if I am fielding them without. Not technically WYSIWYG, but it's not something that people will find confusing, so they don't tend to mind.

I build them with the non-spiked ironfist - my ironfist boys get the "real" spiked versions.

I removed the AHW and did some easy work on the hand. Quick and easy, and actually pretty good.

Now that I think about it, there is no reason you couldn't build a 'convertible' Bull.

1. Don't attach either hand.
2. Drill a hole in the wrist with a pin vice.
3. Put a pin in each of the hands.
4. The pin needs to fit very snugly in the hole you have drilled so that the hand will stay attached without the use of glue.

This means that you will be able to equip your Bulls differently for each battle.

I haven't tried this, but I've seen it done with Empire artillery, where you can swap out the cannon for a mortar.

I arm mine with 1 with 2 hand weapons, the bellowers have just club/sword and the other has a HW/Ironfist. That way no matter what wargear I claim they have its represented in the unit.

This is what I do as well.  Only the nose-picker counts as an IF in my horde.  The other is just a fancy version of brass knuckles.

I did all of my bulls with mini-magnets.  I removed the weapon from the extra hand weapon bit and carved out a small space to make the remaining bit look like a fist with fingers and such.

Although I have magnetized parts which would allow me to swap out the regular fists for ironfists, I haven't really done so yet.  The naked bulls do their job relatively well.

I did minor conversions for all my bulls.  I did weapon swaps in the right hands so all are holding clubs, and then the left hands are all magnetized with three options - an empty fist, an iron fist and an additional hand weapon.  Then I field whichever option I want for them.  

I did the same for the bellowers and standard bearers, only on the right hand.  It is a little more work to put an IF on the right hand, but doable.

Yeah, I reckon that looks great.  

Most of the options on the ogre sprues are brilliant, but I was just thinking last night that there's maybe a lack of options where the right-hand weapons are concerned.  In a normal bull's right hand, you have a choice from two swords and one club.  In the left, you have a choice of 3 clubs (4 including the command sprue) or any of three ironfists.  That means 3 options for the (traditionally) main weapon, and 7 for the additional weapon!

Does this seem a bit strange to anyone?  (Or am I missing something completely!?)  I for one warmly welcome any tips for making things more interchangeable!

I agree - the weapons (IMHO) are done backwards - they should have put clubs in all the right hands instead of swords, and swords in the left (which is what I've done for my bulls).  Luckily weapon swaps are fairly easy to do.
