Depends what you are looking for. Both are great from a modeling perspective; from a gaming slant, that's where you need to decide what it is you want from your army :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

Honestly i am looking for a survivable army, with a strong magic phase, the main thing that pushes me away from daemons is the daemonic instability rule so if i have a bad turn of rolling i could do very badly... I am thinking lizard men but i have played them before but never really clicked with them i think its because there a very defensive army (IMO).

Daemons are fairly survivable, with a universal Ward Save of 5+ or better, and decent Core troops. Their magic phase can be as good as you want to make it, with three unique lores, and the potential access to some of the BRB lores...

Warriors of Chaos are the epitome of a solid and survivable army. They have the best army-wide armour saves in the game, IMHO, and really do take some beatings, before dishing out some rough justice in return.

Have you considered any other choices outside of the two above though? I mean, Dwarves are rather survivable. With a very decent (army-wide) army save, a very strong anti-magic phase, and some of the better shooting in the game, Dwarves can be a great army to play. Then, of course, you could consider our very own fatties?

I have tried dwarfs but they only really work amazingly as a gun-line army (or so i have seen) and i would find that boring. ogres i have thought about that but there low Ld and no worthwhile armor-save (against anything other than the most basic of troops) I found them to be rather unreliable, powerful but unreliable. warriors i like the feel of the army and the tactics (move forward and insert weapon in the enemy)  there high armor-save and Ld makes them reliable but the i find most army to be very similar if you have fought one WoK you have fought most of them. daemons the only thing bad about them is there mediocre save, you always get it but its still a 5+ (unless you go Tzeentch but there base inf are not brilliant (IMO) and the single thing that drives me nuts with vampires and I would find irritating about daemons is there daemonic instability (i think i have touched on this before I cant remember... but at ther moment dwarfs, WoK and daemons at the top at the moment.
P.S. TY for all the help  :P

Okay, so that's narrowed down the options.

Well, let's look at them one by one...

1) Dwarves - As discussed, they make a very formidable gunline; arguably the best in the game. They have very solid armour saves, are survivable, and boast strong anti-magic. Their leadership is fairly high across the army, and means they are fairly reliable too. However, if you aren't that into the idea of gunning your opponent down, why not try something a little different? Big blocks of warriors, hammerers and ironbreakers could work, with support from rangers, gyrocopters and the likes. Or, you could go slayer-heavy, led by a Daemonslayer or something? The diversity is there in the Dwarf army, it's just people do get suckered into the cookiecutter lists.

2) Warriors of Chaos - In my honest opinion, they are the solid choice out of the ones you are interested in. They genuinely have it all; fantastic armour saves, great magic ability, awesome in combat. But, best of all, the army is as diverse as they come. Fancy going Mono-God? Sure! Fancy a bit of all four? Go for it! The possibilities are really endless in the army book, and it is hard to build a bad list. The only thing they lack, is any decent amount of shooting, outside of the Hellcannon. But, you seemed anti-mass-shooting, judging by the Dwarf response, so that shouldn't be an issue. WoC aren't going to be breaking the meta game any time soon, but they are very solid.

3) Daemons of Chaos - Are one of my favourite armies. It is next to impossible to write a bad list for this army, and I have often found it more difficult to lose with Daemons than to win with them. The models are great, and with the new releases there hasn't been a better time to start them (particularly with some decent savings on the new models on some sites). The mediocre save isn't too mediocre, giving you a 1-in-3 chance of saving every wound, rarely negated bystuff your opponent will bring.

And, no worries, you are most welcome :) Any further questions, please feel free to ask!

Honestly I think I am closer to daemons, but the one thing i have yet to find out, how do you deal with a horde army? Nurgle wont have enough attacks and its the same with khorne, Slaanesh seems closer but from the few times I have played against them they have done less than khorne due to khorne normally wounding on 2s and hitting on 3s in general.

The best bet for dealing with horde armies (Skaven, Goblins etc) is Daemonettes of Slaanesh, with a Herald of Slaanesh. They chuck out plenty of attacks, and deployed in a horde can really cut through enemy hordes. Add to this the Slaaneshi Ld bomb build, and a Keeper of Secrets/Bloodthirster, The Masque and some Fiends. Khorne/Slaanesh combo deals with hordes really well :)
