« on: Apr 25, 2012, 08:35:10 PM »
I wasnt sure where to put this but i figured that it would be best put at the FAQs anyway as you can see from the title this is all about abbreviations because i havnt been on here that long and there are so many abbreviations for so many things it just gets confusing for new people so hopefully this will be a thread where people who are new to this site or to warhammer in general can come to understand some of the lingo so if you know any abbreviations or just different names for the same units please put them down here and what they mean so we can help the new players , because we were all there once :) thanks

HE = high elves
WE = wood elves

LotGM- Lore of the Great Maw

static CR- CR you get from banners, charges, etc.

LA- Lore Attribute, light armor isn't used too often IMO

DE- Dark Elves

HE- High Elves

WE- Wood Elves

WoC- Warriors of Chaos

Butcher Tax- The rule that you have to have to have LotGM in your list on a SM or butcher.

HH- Hellheart

AHW- Additional Hand Weapon

BoOP- Brace of Ogre Pistols

OP- Ogre Pistol/Overpowered

GT- Grey Templar (You would be surprised...)

Facing ogres is like facing an avalanche.

 Tusks and fangs!  I like this thread.  AFAIK it's a good idea for the OP to ask the forum VIP for their INP.  FYI when I say VIP it doesn't refer to IMPRT or NB MEM but rather to folks who has been internet peeps for a while.

SRY if this is a long post but IMHO I think this is a great idea, it definitly WFM and TYVM! :P ;)

Let's see how much I can remember of my own reply  :P.  I don't think all this should go into the list though, most are not widely used.

AFAIK - As far as I know
OP - original poster/over powered
VIP - Very important person/people
INP - Input
FYI - For your information
IMPRT - Important
NB - Important
MEM - Member/s
SRY - Sorry
WFM - Works for me
TYVM - Thank you very much

That would be useful as new players to the forum would actually be able to find it!  Quite agree.

If we can get a moderator or the overtyrant himself to stick it that would be great because I started this to help new players and if its hard to find then it of no use to anyone and Id gladly keep editing it

What is chaff? =__=

units with lowpoint costs which can be used to
- have more drops
- put in front of enemy units (you don't really care, that the unit is gone)
Cormorant on thundertusk ASL rule
Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol
