Bloodsail Island Anchor Bashers from Titan-forge
« on: Apr 13, 2012, 12:17:32 AM »
The "Anchor Bashers" are the latest Ogres to be released by Titan-forge for their Bloodsail Island range:

"Anchor Bashers are the veterans of Bloodsail Island ogres. Only the toughest and braves (or craziest) of the pirates can enter their ranks. Before becoming one, an ogre has to prove his worth by diving into one of the wrecked ships that surround the island and killing at least ten Razorsharks. The only weapon he can use can be salvaged from the wreckage. Ogres are not famous for their subtlety, and so, most of the candidates go straight for the ships anchor..."

Not too keen on the anchor bashers, prefer the Pirate Crewmen and http://titan-forge.com/fantasy_miniatures_bloodsail_island_ogre_pirate_crewmen and Island Hero set http://titan-forge.com/fantasy_miniatures_bloodsail_island_bloodsail_island_hero_set from the same range....

I think it's the diving helms that put me off them....

Gotta agree.  But the parts list for the anchor bashers lists a head, and a 'diving helmet' so you might get to choose whether or not they hav the helmet. Either way, thye may be a good enough size to use GW heads on the model

I'll let you all know, I purchased some for myself.  Gonna try to run a squad of 8 maneaters...extra hand weapon in the front, great weapons in the back

Funny, they remind me of my AT-43 conversion project I was working on recently: Ogre Divers built out of a couple of Rackhams's Space Apes.

Of course, the Bloodsail Island divers are way better than my Amateurish sculpts, but at least I can claim that I had a similar idea to a brilliant fella at a small mini company. I will nick a few idea of them should I pursue this idea any further.

Cheers,

They are on 40mm bases jonny and pretty much designed to be used as GW ogres.

Resin I believe.

Wow these guys are awesome. If I were starting again it would seriously tempt me to make an ogre army with their entire range.

Alright, I just joined this forum specifically because I love these miniatures, and I've also been thinking of starting an Ogre army for awhile, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other miniatures like these (maybe not so pirate-y, or anywhere to get these cheaper.

Thanks a lot,
TownezDragon

i put a message on fb asking titan forge if they had made these fromresin-they said it is and they are slghtly larger than gw ogres.
@townezdragon theres a thread in the butchers cauldron about alternate ogres. also i dont think they are available anywhere else for less money.

They say this on their site regarding delivery:
Quote
Europe will normal take 5-8 business days.

DUE TO HIGH DEMAND OF OUR PRODUCTS YOUR ORDER MIGHT TAKE 7-10 MORE DAYS TO COMPLETE. WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.
http://titan-forge.com/payment_shipping?PHPSESSID=5a098cbb1fc9239a8d1df3b4f140756f

So I wouldn't worry if you've not got them yet, they're a much smaller business than GW so probably don't have the resources to get stuff out as quickly as GW would when they've got a large number of orders.
