1000 pt starting list all round good ..help

hey all im having a little problem atm as everyone no's ogres are expensive (point Wise) and im finding it hard to put together a list just for 1000 point tourneys with my mates iv brought my first Battalion 2day and im contemplating on what to use go all out with ogres or throw some iron guts in their. Aswell as a hero im tossing up between the FireBelly or the Butcher.

A bit earlier the month a few of us were talking about a 1k list on the forum and Danne came up with this:

Firebelly, General, Great Weapon
+  Crown of Command
+  Lore of Fire

6 Ironguts, Standardbearer
+  Standard of Discipline

4 Mournfang Cavalry, Heavy Armour, Ironfist, Standardbearer
+  Dragonhide Banner

1 Sabretusks

1 Sabretusks

1 Ironblaster

Total Points: 999

I think this is a really nasty piece of work,  I havent had a chance to test it myself yet, but between 4 MF with banner, a block of IG with a firebelly and an IB you will be able to put out a lot of damage for a very small game.

I think the firebelly is Lvl 2 as well.  Run him with the IG and you have a Ld8 bubble from your general and the IG can use their own Ld of 9.

If you don't own MF or a IB yet, you can just substitute them for more Ironguts.  2-3 Big blocks of Ironguts can also be pretty scary in 1k.

  thanx maan for your input i dont own a IB or MF yet but their on the list 
looking over that list yes i can see how nasty is could be my main opponents will be chaos , skaven and Gob and ork i havnt seen their list but ill give this list ago and see how it works out thank you
