Hi,
I actually started this army way back in Sept 2011 but various things consipred to distract me from ever really getting off to a decent start, however, now I have the time and focus to get the army going.
So far I have the contents of the Ogre battalion and a Bruiser to form the basis of this army.
Oh,and I have a Stonehorn too!
Today I finally finished one of the 3 models I actually started painting back in September, and I'm happy I've got atleast 1 model painted.A slow start, but a start's a start.
Anyway,here's the Ogre Bellower:
Next I'll be finishing the 2 other Ogres of his unit then I'll be moving onto the Ironguts(Can't wait to paint those!!)
Thanks for looking,
Mike.

Ironguts are horrible to paint btw, I hate painting them

Yeah i have a tendency to paint rather neat and actually find it difficult to paint models so they are supposed to have a dirty look.
Something to learn in the future I suppose.
Earlier today I finished my first unit of 3 Ogres(all of them being the command as I'm likely to expand thier unit size) and I'm happy with the standard I've painted them to.
The banner is rather uninspired but I was having a bit of a time trying to come up with something easy and original so in the end I just copied the design from the models in the army book.
When I come to painting the Ironguts I'll hopefully be spending a bit more time and effort in an attempt to make them stand-out a little more.
Hopefully some decent freehand attempts will help do just that!
C&C welcome.
Cheers,
Mike.

Cleeeeaaaaan
Don't worry about it though, the paintjobs are fantastic! If I could paint like you I'd make neat-looking armies all the time!

Today was my Fiance's payday and as shes somewhat of a VC fan(bought her the new book on release
), she decided to expand her army with a unit of Crypt Horrors.
After studying the sprues and the leftover parts I knew I had to 'borrow ' a few Vargheist parts and set to work making a VC themed Maneater.
Here is the resulting mini along with his Black Ocr themed partner in crime:
The connection between the wings and his back needs a bit of greenstuff work, though as I'm planning to add some batty fur around his neck anyway it shiuldn't be too much hassle.
The Orc Ogre was a really simple conversion, just a few cuts required to get all the parts to fit together nicely.
I'm really looking forward to getting the Vampire Ogre finished so I can get some paint on him!
Cheers,
Mike.

those wings fit perfectly! really add to the model. That two handed weapon looks pretty nasty, wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of him!
The armour and orc shield for the belly plate fit great.
Looking good, keep updating

Wow, I didn't think it had been THAT long since I updated this blog! Just shows how easily I get distracted, eh?
In the last few months I have actually made some progress painting and assembling the army, albeit very slow progress.Better than nothing though I suppose.
My unit of 5 Ironguts( need to assemble a few more
) has had a lick of paint and I've even managed to finish a pair of them this Saturday whilst my Fiancee was at her mothers(the gorgon
).
So here are a few pics of the completed models with a rather rubbish pic showing the whole unit thats WIP:
Note that the first lot of pictures were taken whilst I had the models under a lamp and the second lot were taken with just daylight and I apologize for the less than stellar quality of the photos.
I mentioned earlier that I am easily distracted; that distractionmost recently came in the form of an Island of Blood set. I have only just began painting the HE's (which can also be seen over on Ulthuan.net) but also paln to paint up the Skaven side too.
A few pics of the HE's if anyone is interested:
I'm not sure which army i'll try to finish first but no doubt i'm likely to flit between both projects when i'm a little tired of the first. The models are a good contrast to each other too, all the smaller details on the Elves makes a nice change from the flat surfaces of the Ogres.
I'll try to be disciplined and finish my troop choices first but I'd like to finish the Vamp Maneater conversion and I really wanna paint my Stonehorn.......
Thanks for reading!
Mike.
