New to Ogres any help please.

I am just starting ogres and was wondering if this was a good first set of things to get(note i have 475$ to spend edit at will)

2 battalions
2 tyrant/ brusier models
3 Butcher models
Army book
2 Man eaters
2 gorgers
and a maneater ninja(gotta love it   )

I have the same thing except I added another box of Gnoblars, and a unit of Trappers. But what you've got there will give you a VERY good start.

Looks like a solid 2000+ army to me.

What you plan on doing with all those charcters? 
One Tyrant, that's obvious and the bruiser to be converted to a BsB maybe.  They will rock with the coming of 7th edition.
3 butchers might be over the top IMO, you can always convert some bulls to fit that role.

Enjoy your army building.  Good choice with the ogres as a new army, you won't regret it.

I'd not take the butcher models - or maybe 1 tops.  I had great fun converting butchers from ogre bull sprues - there's a great guide on this website - it was fun and pretty easy so I'd recommend that to anyone.

I would drop one of the Butcher Unless your planning on running 3,000pts. And get those Trappers!!! I can't say enough about these guys!!!! You defenatly want an Army Battle Standard! That's about it have a great time painting and playing these big boys!!
