Wow! Nice article, you bring up many points I consider/use but have never thought to get down in a formalized way.
Cheers Randoid, that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said about my blatantly dyslexic ramblings! As with any of my articles if a couple of people pick up 1 point made in the entire article that helps them for the rest of their hobby career then it's been well worth it on my part!
Hopefully everyone won't turn into an OCD mentalist like myself though, arranging bits piles to right angles to each other on their cutting mat

.
I almost reported this to a moderator for the damage it did to my soul!
I am here to remind you that misery loves company...
But seriously, how long does it take to assemble the arks, with all the mould lines removed?
(I cringed and died a little inside when I saw the sprues live)
Haha, we can share our pain!
I'm timing everything, and have Wednesdays off from work on the store so today's work will be 100% uninterrupted, so I'll let you know how it goes. To be fair this is a speed army, and although done to a very high standard will not be up to the way I normally do things, filling any slight discrepancies with liquid green stuff etc.
Also, although it's horrible if I do 3 at once then the time for each will be reduced.
