I almost reported this to a moderator for the damage it did to my soul!

I am here to remind you that misery loves company...

But seriously, how long does it take to assemble the arks, with all the mould lines removed?

(I cringed and died a little inside when I saw the sprues live)

Wow! Nice article, you bring up many points I consider/use but have never thought to get down in a formalized way.

Cheers Randoid, that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said about my blatantly dyslexic ramblings! As with any of my articles if a couple of people pick up 1 point made in the entire article that helps them for the rest of their hobby career then it's been well worth it on my part!

Hopefully everyone won't turn into an OCD mentalist like myself though, arranging bits piles to right angles to each other on their cutting mat :).

Haha, we can share our pain!

I'm timing everything, and have Wednesdays off from work on the store so today's work will be 100% uninterrupted, so I'll let you know how it goes. To be fair this is a speed army, and although done to a very high standard will not be up to the way I normally do things, filling any slight discrepancies with liquid green stuff etc.

Also, although it's horrible if I do 3 at once then the time for each will be reduced.

The Arks took about 10 hours or something horrible....by far the slowest models to do out of the lot!

I have FINALLY finished assembling, the painting has begun!

I wrote a blog post about batch assembly: http://www.elementgames.co.uk/painting-blog/

And today I've just written an article on speed painting necron infantry using sprays and washes: http://elementgames.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=231

I'll get some decent Necron pictures up before the week is out.

More round bases sorry! I have made some progress with the gold Necrons.

More shots here on my blog

And even more in my ever growing Necron gallery (will it ever stop? :o)

I'm quite enjoying doing the in a different scheme, painting gold and making the army look coherent and distinct is quite a challenge!

I have also painted an entire 2 tattoos on my mournfang riders...

Another quicky made some progress and got another couple of shots up in my gallery, the picture's a link to more shots as usual:

Working on 3 Doomsday Arks currently, coming out quite nicely, more pictures as soon as they're done.

I have done 4 tattoos on my mournfang riders as well! I'll actually have an update worth posting in my log soon!

Well on my way mate :)

there's another 2 in bits to go with this one, I'll get a decent shot of them based soon.

On a more fantasy note: Daemons, I loooooooooove these kits!

I'll be doing some reviews/tutorials for them soon, however before I write anything properly I may as well say that all of these kits are absolutely brilliant from a painting and modelling perspective, none of them goes under 9/10 for me.

I'll have a tutorial up for the screamers as well shortly

For now here's the nurgling tutorial http://www.elementgames.co.uk/forums/1-day-daemons-painting-nurglings-t232.html

And a quick review of both the nurgling and the screamer kits on my blog

I have just had a flick through a few of your tutorials, and I think they are superb! Have a gnobbo on me :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

I live for the little chaps, thank you kindly Josh ;)

 Fantastic work, really smooth and skilled paint jobs all round.

Cheers - these new kits lend themselves to my style (drybrushing and washes) quite nicely I think, which definitely helps a lot!

The tutorials section of EG is quite hidden away guys, we're looking at moving it elsewhere but are ver aware that we don't want the homepage looking too crowded, in the mean time I would really appreciate it if you could let any friends who you think would enjoy/find use for my tutorials know about them, link them on any other forums you frequent etc.

The more they get read the more it motivates me to do others (they're quite time consuming) so it'll all lead to more content in the long term.

Plaguebearers + a couple of others + necrons coming up in the next few days!

Cheers Hragged, I've been so busy running the store that I've barely had time to send in any pictures of stuff to the blog in the past few months, so it was great to see some of my work up there, it seems people like the scheme as well.

I've written a new tutoral, 'Speed Basing Armies' in which I cover basic use of pigments for getting fast effective results, let me know if you have any thoughts.

The scheme covered in there specifically is my generic go to basing for when I'm unsure what else to go for, it's quite neutral (grey) but 2 spot colours (red brown pigments and green tufts) and it does a great job of siple and effectively framing models, it may be of use to someone I hope.

Also a couple of shots of the Necrons which I've been working on:

The bulk of my commissions are out of the way, which means my big-boys are going to be getting the attention they deserve now :)

I have done another tutorial, this one is a fairly big one - a step by step of how I painted my plaguebearers, it's fairly similar to the nurgling one but a lot a few people asked how I did them, and I had the pictures so it would have been pretty rude not to oblige!

:) Cheers for linking Enkiel.

It's something I may well do a specific tutorial about if people think it merits it? There's some stuff that can be applied to source lighting in general, even without an airbrush. I' by no means an expert but I've made enough mistakes to have learned a little!
