I love those gorger models. Very cool. I would hit 'em with a thinned down devlan mud wash, or alternately leviathan purple in the recesses or a VERY thinned down blue wash. But very cool, keep up the good work.

I'm hopin' to get a gnoblog started myself, but between not being able to operate my camera, and work it hasn't been easy... :P

My first of two Dreadnights. I knew that having two, I wouldn't want the same pose on both, so tried for something a bit different.

Magnetised the sword and fist:

And anyone know where this bit goes? I can't find the damn thing in the instructions, and I had the wife double check and everything!

And a quick update on one of the drop pods, coming along nicely:

OK can be competitive at a tournament, I just tell kids i'm going to beat them up in the parking lot if they win.

Did a body swap... wanted the better posed body on the plain legs and vice versa.

Took a bit of work getting this pose with the arms, I really like it!

And the other one:

The base looks like the blue is epic fail, but it's actually just the boltgun metal over it giving it a weird effect.

I really need to make a light box. Got a tripod on the way, hope to play around with my Nikon D3000 to get the most out of it!

Back to the ogres!

A second bruiser/butcher or BSB

Each arm has a pin (glued into the arm only) and two rare earth magnets to hold it in place.

Now I just need to make something cool for a BSB banner!

After seeing someone's airbrushed orange Grey Knights over on Wargamerau, I realised I am ACTUALLY ALLOWED to paint my Grey Knights whatever colour I want to! I know right? There's so many Boltgun Metal Knights around at the moment that I can't believe I didn't think to add my usual twist to the Knights; something a bit different. (see Orange Templars, Ice Goblins and Green Tkings earlier in this log to see what I mean.

So, having spoken to Massaen about this, he suggested trying them in Gold. So I ran with that. Here are two test models:

I think I'll do the Power Armour fellas eyes purple, as well as finding somewhere on his backpack to add a splash of purple as well. And also the Acquilla white on the Storm Trooper's (Kasarkin) back. Also, I need to thin down my paints more when painting the runes on the armour as it is hard to make out letters when the paint is a bit thick.

What do you think?

Back when I was painting my Blood Angels characters, I learnt a good method for painting Gold on armour so that it looked awesome. The only issues are that you have to start ove r a *shock* white undercoat, and the second is that it takes literally forever to do each model... :P

I like the fact that they are different. You do see a lot of gunmetal grey when looking at the Knights, as you see a lot of silver when looking at Necrons. Anthing that breaks that mould is to be encouraged!
The answer to everything is sabretusks.  ;) There is no problem that can't be solved at least in part with kitties.

Funny you should say that... (Insert shameless plug for Ikea furniture)

And now, time for an Ogre update! Got three new character models!

This guy from Avatars of War (they make great generals that suit a lot of Warhammer armies) on Display base.

You may need to pin those in...
I ended up doing this. I used one end of a paperclip (with a semi-circle in it) for extra support. All good so far.

On to some new stuff... Banners, Banners and more Banners!
My custom Bruiser/Tyrant with BSB:

This is currently WIP with painting. I think it turned out pretty well.
And then there are these:

All are magnetised (as all my movement trays are from Back-to-Baseix (an awesome Aussie store) and involve magnets... I'll demonstrate this another time...). They will be used to indicate Gut Magic spells in effect on Ogre units. I believe Gut Magic stacks, even by the same butcher, but that requires a new thread...
I'll paint the effects on the back of the banners to keep them clean.

Love the "wolverine" conversion :)

May I ask where all the little flags are from? I think it is a brilliant idea and wish to be a bit of a tea leaf with it  :o!

They are Goblin banners... I put out a call for some on my friendly local forum and two people had a bunch that I picked up.

The poles are toothpicks!

That looks good. You do a solid job of showing the versatility of the GW plastic kits.
One thing though, some of the buildings have too small bases. The factory is one that stands out as being particularly annoying. If you base terrain, the base should either be at least 1" past the edge of the building, or take up exactly the same footprint, otherwise you run into problems with gameplay.
On a ease of use standpoint, I like making city terrain on a regular set of squares. Because your buildings don't all have the same footprint you'd have to use smaller squares as your rule and then do a bunch of them for larger buildings (e.g. a building with a 9" foot print is based on a 12" base, so that it is 2 6" bases long). This makes putting together and moving around the terrain alot easier, and it makes the city regular and more urban.
If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Some buildings for Fantasy:

They are flat pack MDF jobs from this company: http://www.miniaturescenery.com/ProductsPage.asp
I also have their painting racks, some good gear. Takes a while to put together but looks good when made with care.

And a new addition to the ogres! (two more to come)

I wasn't too keen on the idea of going with regular ogre weapons for such a cool model. I went with a custom "trappin" stick for grabbing the fiddly little things running and screaming. And a sword made from a Deffkopta rotor.

looks good man.  cities of death table looks like a blast to play on.  I know how difficult it is to make an ogre look cool with the boring pose of the rider it comes with and the motion filled mount.  You did a good job.  The deffkopta blade is an interesting idea, would love to see it painted.

I'm thinking that I have gone with more natural tones across this army, a step away from my usual bright colours (well apart form the Yellow Pantz...) I'm thinking the bone really needs some work. A wash or two would probably do an awesome job seeing as it is white, just need some help to choose. Devlan, or something else?
