Painting Competition - Wallcrusher!
« on: Oct 24, 2010, 05:21:29 PM »
Hey everyone!

Welcome to the painting Contest!

Down to the nitty gritty.....What do you win?
Apart from bragging rights, you get the Bigname WALLCRUSHER!! applied to your profile if you win.
This is one of the only ways of getting a Bigname, so well worth winning.
1st place also gets 2 Pet Gnoblars.
2nd place gets 2 Pet Gnoblars, but no Bigname.
Everyone who enters will get a Pet Gnoblar!

What are the rules?

1)Well the Bigname that is up for grabs is Wallcrusher, most 'War Engines' can bring down a wall so that's the kind of things we're looking for.
Any Warmachine or Chariot, or exceptional things such as Skaven Furnaces etc
Here's a few examples;

Scraplauncher
Cannon
Chariot
Stone Thrower
Screaming Bell
Weapons team
Corpse Cart

Basically anything that would fit into being an 'engine of war', must be a construct of some kind, generally not living things like a Rhinox rider.
If you're unsure you're entry would be allowed, just post or PM me.

2) You're entry has to be something that you've not posted here before, fine if you've just posted WIP's and not the finished item.
If you've only just posted something suitable in the last week, it'll be allowed in because that would be annoying.
Generally this is to see new stuff from you guys or to insipre you to finish that Scrappy or some such that you've just not done yet.

3) When your entry is finished, put the pics in a PM to me and I'll post in a entrants thread when the contest is finished.
The best way of doing this would be to just give me a direct link to each your images from an image hoster.
DO NOT POST IMAGES HERE!
Limit of one entry per member.
Maximum of 3 images per entry.

4)The contest is open from now until the closing date of Midnight November 24th 2010

5)The winners will be judged by you guys in the form of a Poll, the person with the most votes wins, second most takes....you guessed it second place.
People voting should vote for the one they like best, taking into consideration the painting technique, conversions and the general look of the finished article.

Anyone can enter, regardless of how good you think you are at painting/modelling, this contest is for fun and to be part of it, a great way to test your painting/modelling skills or give you that much needed motivation to get stuff painted!

Get painting!   :maw:

I'll certainly have a go, as long as I can get my camera able to upload some pictures! I've a few things that could fit in this category, can I check that it's not an Ogre specific competition? As in, can you enter stuff from other Fantasy armies?

(This may be a stupid question, but still... ;) )
The answer to everything is sabretusks.  ;) There is no problem that can't be solved at least in part with kitties.

Record: 17/14/5
Last game: 2400 vs Warriors - Win

Good to have you guys in BOOMGUT and Sandals  :)

Sandals, yep the comp is open to all thinling armies, as well as Ogres, just as long as it fits in the 'War Engine' perameters  ;)

I'm definitely in.  Missed the last one.  Hmmm... maybe time to dig out that old forgotten doom diver of mine...
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.

I'd like to say I'm in but my scrappy is still in bits.  Lots and lots of ill fitting bits that refuse to stick together despite the pins.  Mind you, as it's constructed by gnoblars I suspect any sort of assembly no matter how odd will work.  I'm not sure a month is going to be long enough to assemble it and paint it plus the crew but I'll try.

Just finished moving, so I might get something finished for this.
If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Hmm, not sure I'll be able to scrap together the cash to get a warmachine in time, but this has given me an idea for a conversion... That said I might have a dwarf cannon around somewhere...

I have started alrdy. Since I posted the other day... Couldn't stop thinking about what I wanted to do, so just got stuck in! It was gonna be a converted scrappy or a hellcannon. Seems fitting to do the scrappy, since its for an ogre big name. Got the foundation of the model done and set to the base. Now gotta decide if it will be operated by ogres or gnoblars.

cheers

I have assembled most of my scrappie, and I'm in the process of painting it. Since I already have a normal scraplauncher I decided to scrathbuild one, and I've butchered an Orc Chariot for it.

@Fantasy Freak
You'll have to excuse my (s)crappy english, it is not my first language, so I try to make my posts short and to the point so there's a lesser change of me making me look like an idiot :). Stuff like too or to can be a bit difficult for me, so thats why I used l33tspeak. I'll refrain from that from now on.

Scrappy half built.  Sanity totally lost.

Mental note to self:  Never build another one!

Still not sure I'll get everything done in time but I'm trying!

Nice to have you on board etos  :)

Havoc, haha I feel for you man
Try doing 2 at the same time though, that really blows

WC, I'm sure whichever you enter it'll be great  :)

23 days left to go before entries need to be in, I don't know about you guys but I need to get my finger out  ;)
I was thinking of entering my nearly painted Plague Furnace, but unsure whether to go with my Scratch-built warp-lightning Cannon or scratch built Doomflayer.....decisions...decisions.....
Whichever, I need to decide soon!
