Competition: Best Painted Miniature - Prizes to be Won!
« on: Jan 07, 2010, 09:57:03 PM »
Welcome to the first Ogre Stronghold competition of the new Decade! :)

To enter this competition, you must assemble and paint an Ogre Kingdoms-related miniature and send one or more photos of it to me via Personal Message.

The miniature may be converted if you wish. It can also be a miniature you've completed prior to the starting date of this competition, but only if it hasn't already been entered into a previous Ogre Stronghold competition. It doesn't have to be a Games Workshop miniature, but it has to be something that would be reasonably suited to the Ogre Kingdoms army.

Your entry must be in before the 8th of February 2010, so that gives you about a month. All Stronghold members are permitted to enter (including the Stronghold Guard). Just one entry per person please, and be aware that all entries will appear in the next issue of the Bellower.

I will be judging this competition, and a variety of things will factor into my decision, such as the paint job, assembly, the base and the overall look of the finished piece.

Thanks to our friends at OG Games, there are some great prizes up for grabs:
- 1st place wins a £10 voucher redeemable at OG Games, a Big Name of your choosing (Big Names are titles added to your Stronghold profile), and 3 Pet Gnoblars! :gshock:
- 2nd place will receive a voucher worth £7.50 redeemable at OG Games and 2 Pet Gnoblars! :>D
- 3rd place will be awarded with a £5 voucher redeemable at OG Games and 2 Pet Gnoblars! 8>)
- Additionally, all entrants will take home a Pet Gnoblar! :>)

I think you'll agree that it's definitely worth having a go!
Don't forget, you have until the 8th of February to send your entry to me.

Good luck everyone! :)

Well geez, we've got some talented painters here at the Stronghold, so it's kind of intimidating. But I'm going to try anyway!

Hmm... I guess I could use a break from painting Space Marines and Witch Elves so much. Come to think of it,I haven't painted an ogre in almost 2 years...wow... yeah I better get to work.

Yay!
I was wondering when another Stronghold painting comp would be running, it's been far too long since the last one.

This month I have sooooo much to paint for the GT final, which is the weekend before the deadline, but I've been waiting for a Stronghold comp and an excuse to paint another Ogre for a long time

Might have to try and squeeze something in for a laugh  :>P
This is not a mishap is it just an excellent excuse to put a Nurgling in your mouth and suck on it.

Great timing! I'm just about to finish the paint job on a conversion from Skrag into a normal Butcher. I'll be entering that.
Cheers,

I don't have any ogres at the moment :(
Would a gnoblar count? Or even a gnoblar diorama?

Hmmm... still waiting for my ogres to arrive :-(

Hope I get them in the next week or so, otherwise I'm in trouble...
I realize this isn't terribly constructive, but did I really just read that a Tzeentch Daemons army is having trouble killing Ogres?  I think I just felt the world end a little.

Now this helps getting the next free days filled with hobby-doing.
I'm in with my two days of slightly green stuffed Master Bullenbeissa. Hooray for the low rankings  ;)
