The Feeding Grounds / Re: Luck or skill?
« on: May 02, 2013, 05:55:08 AM »
Adepticon 3000pt last year. First game against High Elves. My opponent had 114 sea guard in one unit. I had a unit of 24 Ironguts and 6 characters in horde formation. There was one round of combat, needless to say, the High Elves didn't win it. The game was over in 45 minutes.

I have used it several times with decent results. It is scary so you need to decide if is worth the risk.

So many changes it can't even be called warhammer. It's a different game altogether.

An Ironblaster is not a good answer for the Hellcannon. It has a 5+ WS and then on a 5+ you kill a single crew and after that it has 5 wounds. I would say it has a pretty good chance of taking several cannon balls, if not a games worth.

I take a lvl 4 Maw and double Firebellies at lvl 1. Breath weapons and fireballs for chaff and I think Toothcracker is one of the best spells Ogres can cast. A toughness 5 unit with tough 6 characters with multiple wounds is a handful for anyone. Obviously regen is great but can be negated with flaming. I also like Bonecrusher, low strength, no armor save hits is a great way to deal with the reverse ward save Dark Elfs.

I always bring a Firebelly. Tossing a fireball is great and that breath weapon always pays off. I don't know that I have played without them. At higher points I take 2.

I like Deathecheater on my Runemaw BsB also!

If you are playing with a large block of Ogres, there is no good reason to not take it. If you play mmu and spread out your units more, I can see the argument.  A horde of Ogres with this banner is a lot scarier and a lot harder to eliminate. You might be able to avoid it, but good luck getting the points for it.

Looks like Deathfist still works.

Runemaw makes all but purple sun useless. HH and scroll when you are close. Not much you can do against it if its irresistible but you wont get hexed.

As stated, bonecrusher is great against the Dreadlord.

Runemaw, and kill everything while he fails to magic you.

If they were 150 points. You would see them all over.

17
The Runemaw banner is awesome if you are running a horde and although dull, it is effective.

Pit of Shades targets, Purple Sun will still work though.

I really like this model and its rules.

Is that Warhammer or did they make up their own game?

If you read the sallys rules it has to kill a model to cause panic. Make sure you play it right. They typically are not that effective against ogres.

The Feeding Grounds / Re: Gorgers... whats the verdict?
« on: Jan 20, 2012, 12:31:15 AM »
In the games that I have used them they always performed well. They destroyed warmachines, added charges to the flank and rear. And as stated earlier, toughness 5, 4 wounds unbreakable is awesome.

The Feeding Grounds / Re: Maneaters: Stubborn vs ITP
« on: Jan 05, 2012, 05:41:56 AM »
I agree with it being situational. I am going to use a unit of 4 vs Dwarfs and I think ITP will be better as I am going to have to weather some serious fire before they do their thing. I doubt even one would lose comat to any warmachine. In a larger combat block, Stubborn seems the way to go. imho

Thats a tough call and a bit disappointing. There is no guarantee with the Hellheart and at 50 points that becomes a problem.
