Are you going to use him in game?
When not thinking about all that knowledge,  what does he do or think about?
Game wise example I reckon you could give him stupidity to show how he has to concentrate on not letting all his knowledge overfill him. Just an example.

Other than that I quite like the idea of this guy :)

I've been seeing this popping up alot too!
What I want to know is, do you make your own force out of whatever you want? Or do you have to use certain lists and combinations of ships?

I,e, design your own force or pre-prepared forces+missions?

Slightly off-topic; but I don't think you are allowed to post individual item points.

The Feeding Grounds / Characterful-ness
« on: Apr 09, 2013, 09:50:11 PM »
Howdy everybody.

So when it comes to doing an army one of the main things I look for is character in the army. Now I'm aware everyone loves to convert their own tyrants / butchers, give them a little bit of background, which is awesome indeed, something I really love, but where do you find inspiration for stuff related to Ogres?

For armies like dwarfs, empire, elves its quite easy, they have so much fluff, books/novels filled with different characters and lands and ideas.
Is there something ( non-army book) like this for Ogres that people can work off or go to for inspiration? Or is that why people make their own ideas and stories about their armies because there isn't alot to work with? (Which I suppose adds greatly to the imagination of the person as they are working from scratch to bring together their own characters).

Thanks :)

I'm glad you posted this thread haha Thanks buddy! :P
I did take the "liberal" fleshshade wash too seriously though and my guys came out a little darker than I would have liked haha

Do you think this approach would work on bigger models? Or would the surface area be too much to allow a proper good wash job?

May I add. To anyone who is thinking about following Just_Josh's painting scheme. I have been trying it, and I can not stress enough how important the green wash stage is. Make sure its super watery and just touch it on, took me a few trial and error runs to realise that just a little bit to much green will make it TOO green and very very noticeable as opposed to the subtle green diseasey inclinations as seen by joshs :)

Also, whats the key to applying the green? I tried it, perhaps mine wasn't watered enough but the green came out rather dark and easily noticeable ( albeit im using the darker green shade as couldnt get any thraka, is this likely the problem ? )

Thanks.

Josh, if Tamiya red is not available what would you suggest or do in its place? :)

Thinling Realms / Re: new DoC book isnt half bad
« on: Mar 31, 2013, 01:02:59 PM »
I for one like the DoC book. I'm not a power gamer so I can appreciate that they are at least trying to make it a little fluffier. I like how unstable it can be and how the gods war with one another. I love the fact that units can just appear or enemy wizards can turn into Chaos guys :)

Sure some things may be over priced and under priced, but its done now, but I wouldn;t mind playing DoC :)

Astounding job especially in such a small space of time. Quite the look I always think of when regarding nurgle. I dislike the generic green.

Care to share how you painted them thus? :)
