Maw-Pit Sagas / MANEATER EPISODE II: Rotten Meat
« on: Nov 27, 2012, 11:49:19 PM »
Its warm. That's your first thought as your eyes crack open to the harsh sunlight of the morning. You can hear town of korpeil is in full swing outside. The market stands ready to face the onslaught of customers and theifs. You remember that you and the lads after a successful mission bunkered down at the trolls head inn for a meal and well deserved rest.

What do you do?

« on: Nov 24, 2012, 06:00:34 PM »
Person 1#: Its finally here!

Person 2#: An ogre codex written by Matt ward?
*PUNCH*
*THUD*

Person 1#: NO! they're making another Maneater quest!

Person 3#: what's so great about that?
*STAB*

Person 1#: BY THE MAW WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

That's right folks I'm back! You may not have heard or seen this but I ran a play by post quest based around maneaters. It was well received but died suddenly when my finals came around.

I want to begin anew.

And I need players.

A group of six volunteers will join me in an epic quest of battle and gluttony.

Or as many as I can get.

Post here if you wish to join. If you ran with me when I last did this you get an automatic pass to the quest (as if there would be line)
On Sunday I will message those who will join me. And the character creation begins.

On Monday the game begins.

If you have questions ask me in this thread.

May the maw give you strength.

Maw-Pit Sagas / Pinchin', Stealin' and Runnin'
« on: Feb 16, 2012, 09:20:07 PM »
Snot spat out a big one on the humans face. It was good fight. The sounds of metal crashing a clanging around him, he was completely clam.... Due to the fact of hiding underneath the bright clothing of the Empire engineer he stabbed, repeatedly, in the face. He began to clean the blood off his broken sword by licking it over and over in great globs. He then noticed something next to the face of his unfortunate victim... A small wooden thing with a knob the end.

"Wot?" he thought as he picked it up. His ears pricked up in interest

There was a hole in it! Stupid Humies! Why dey go and do dat? he thought to himself.

He leaned back to take a look deeper into the trinket. His eyes squinted in concentration, hot ashes spilled onto his bulbous nose.

"eeeeeeEEEEEEYAAAAARGH!!!!!!" He ran screaming out of the shirt as his nose burst into flames.

Maw-Pit Sagas / Maneater Rpg
« on: Jan 09, 2012, 03:45:50 PM »
I know I've posted this before.... Kind of

But I feel there is some one who would do this.

An rpg where five to six people play a as a group of Maneater ogre's adeventuring around doing jobs and gaining glory while playing by post.

I can take six people whoever wants to play needs to supply
A name for there ogre
skills
weapons
and description how he looks

Skills can be like from the Been there done that or general skill like stealth or brawling

on the other hand

You can disscuss in this thread to make a system and rules for a man eater rpg

but if you decide to play we will do it free form with some dice rolling generators on the net
It would be great if you could join!

The Feeding Grounds / Bull to Butcher conversion
« on: Jan 06, 2012, 05:14:56 PM »
I had an idea to boost my point value of my army and get me spell caster.

I was planning to tie and glue a homemade butcher apron from real cloth and and bloody it up.

Then add some cleavers and stain the skin for final touch. Maybe even add decapitated heads and piles of meat at his feet.

but I'm worried....

I only have six ogre bulls and one will be taken out to make the butcher. the formation is 3 in front and 3 in back....
So if I take one out will that be an illegal formation or just improper?

The Feeding Grounds / Ogre warband rpg/roleplay
« on: Jan 06, 2012, 04:13:47 PM »
I've been wondering...

What if we held a forum based roleplay of ogres?

A group of tyrants or man eaters created by you lovely memeber of the community would join into a warband and go on adventures in the old world!

but let me lay down some rules...

I can only handle five to maybe six people

If this Stronghold has a dice roller tell how to use it
if not
We must agree on dice roller and agree to ogre's honor that we are honest in our rolls
And we could do it d20 system or warhammer 2nd edition style with 2d10's ooor we can use the profiles and characteristics tests of the wargame but use it in a roleplaying format.

For characters you must have a name
basic fighting style
one magic item
skills
talents
and belly girth

anybody who wants to play post on this board or message me!

I will Gm this.

Looking forward to play!

The Feeding Grounds / Gnoblars! Whats your game?
« on: Jan 05, 2012, 05:13:03 PM »
Gnoblars.

Love 'em or hate 'em Ogre's can't live without 'em!

How do you use your gnoblars? How do you use them on the tabletop or in your fluff?

I'd love to see this.

A game between me and my younger brother. I'm trying out my Ogres for the first time and he is fielding his High Elves.
The battlefield is set.

To the north there is a hill in front of a line of elf sea guard. South from there a wall is set with a blazing barrack!
To the west of that is a magic portal reigned to set off at the magic phase in which it will fire off a random spell to the nearest target.
And finally a basic small building.

The armies: Ogre's: 1 Tyrant, 6 Bulls, 6 Ironguts, 4 LeadBelchers, and  a home brew squad of gnoblar scouts 3 to be precise.
High Elves: 1 Elf prince on a griffion and swathe in Dragon Armor, A Elf arch mage, 10 Sea guard, 10 Sword Masters, and Reavers.

We roll to see who goes first and elves win due to higher leadership value.
Using the Vanguard special rule he moves a good 12 inches towards the wall and blazing bunker.

I use the Scout rule for my Gnoblars and set the next to the magic portal. (goodbye ya gitz.)
TURN 1 Elves
He starts with a march his Sea guard struggling over the hill at half movement. His Prince glides smoothly over in no hurry to get closer to the portal. His Sword masters began a basic movement towards the building. His arch mage stays in one place.
The magic phase begins and his archmage does nothing. The portal rolls for a spell and gets.... The Speed of Light granting a massive bonus and initiative to my gnoblars! (They didn't die! Hoo RAH!)
His reavers begin a volley of arrows to my lead belchers who are southeast of their position. They score two hits which are distributed to two ogres.

TURN 1 Ogres

I begin with a quick march towards the wall eager to get some cover from those reavers arrows! The Iron guts march around the wall towrds the Elf prince hoping to tie him up so the lads can flank him. The Lead belchers move into a better firing position hoping to take some pot shots at them sissy elves.

The Magic phase begins and the spell is rolled for the portal with..... The Speed of Light....Again... thus my gnoblars avoid death again.

Shooting phase: The ogres roll for their multiple shots.... most of them sixes. and a one.
The result was a pile of used to be Elf Reavers minced and cooked with gun powder.
End Turn 1

TURN 2 Elf

In Panic of the unit being wiped out the Sword masters fail their leadership and head screaming for the hills.
Speaking of hills.... the Sea guard is still trying to get over the hill.
The archmage can't get a good line of sight to blow away the Bulls.
The Prince in a Rage moves and prepares to charge my iron guts.

Magic phase the portal spits out.... THE SPEED OF LIGHT. My gnoblars are now basking getting their tan completed.
The Elf prince charges and lands in the middle of the ironguts. But he forgot one thing... My ironguts are carryinga sheriking banner thus giving them fear and terror!

The Prince of course succeeds.... but his griffon cowers and its WS reduced to 1.

The prince lands a flurry of blows but only one goes thorugh and wounds one iron gut.

The Iron guts respond with a flurry of attacks of their own.

Needless to say..... The elf was no a crushed can of meat.... We roll to see how the griffon reacts... It sits there and drools with its new stupidity roll!
My brother stands there with his mouth open and looks around his battlefield....

He says "I give up.... You fatties steamrolled me..."

I laughed a belly rolling guffaw and grabbed my prize! a bag of chips....

My Ogres feasted on Elf, Horse and a very easy to catch Griffon.

Till my next report!

Rules Questions and FAQs / LeadBelchers nukes of destruction
« on: Jan 04, 2012, 04:31:33 PM »
I was playing a game yesterday against my brother who fields high elves and he began to move some Reavers into posistion to try and charge my bulls . During my shooting phase my leadbelchers unleashed all hell on the poor horse riders and in a single attack from the whole unit reduced it to a pile of mince meat!

How do lead belchers work and how do their multiple shots work? Do they take multiple shots per attack.

And do they have to move before they shoot because the guns are slow to fire?

A good run down of Belchers would be much appreciated.
