Rules Questions and FAQs / Formation question
« on: Sep 18, 2012, 09:20:10 PM »
Can you run a unit in a 1 by 3 formation?   Leaving one model for base combat, one support attack model, and one to soak some wounds?

My base idea is 3 maneaters in a conga line, with stubborn and itp.  You could go further with a unit champion and issue challenges to potentially reduce incoming attacks.

Just thinking out loud, thoughts?  Legal?

Rules Questions and FAQs / Impact hits and Goblin Netters
« on: Sep 08, 2011, 01:26:45 AM »
I've searched, here and Warseer.  I have not been able to find a relevant 8th ed thread.

Which takes place?  I read the impact hits take place at the 'beginning' of close combat.  I do not know the wording on the netters myself.

Anyone able to shed some light?

Gnoblogs / Passmossis's Mudmaw Tribe - Tree Terrain Guide
« on: Jun 02, 2010, 02:57:23 PM »
This is my first Gnoblog to record the progress of the Mudmaw Tribe's progress.  I've done a bit of work to get started and have a long road ahead of me.  Note I'm no great painter, don't do much fancy modifications, or anything crazy.   :P   This gnoblog is a work in progress, obviously.  I am currently working out the background of the tribe so some written material here is subject to change.

The Background
From within the Mountains of Mourn lies a valley devoted to the filthiest of the brutes.  Here the staple traditions of the Ogres finds itself in an odd pickle against the will of a half-crazed tyrant.  Forged on the belief of finding a true connection to the Maw itself, the Mudmaw tribe fiercely protect their territory as their homeland.  Stripped of their nomadic exploration tendencies the tribe thrives on causing chaos to any who venture within their small realm within the Mountains of Mourn.  While it has been known for the hunger of the Pit to grow to such extreme needs that even the Mudmaw tribe must venture out.  Placing the Mudmaw tribe in search for even the strangest of objects 'n meats to attempt to sate the Pits current needs.

Pit of the Maw
Within the homeland of the Mudmaw tribe lies a massive pit of bubbling muck 'n mud.  Breathed to life from the chaotic will of the Maw itself; the pit brings forth miraculous boons to the Mudmaw tribe.  As with anything tied to the very will of the Maw, the pit has an insatiable hunger for anything and everything.  To the likes that even the tribe suffers to sate the will of the Pit.

Many objects of power and value has surfaced to the very mouth of the Pit.  Tinted metals of past feasts rise up from the depths of the pit, proven to be worthy of use for the strongest of the filthiest ogres around.  This granting the ogres the means of forging great armor and weapons to further fight to feed the need of the Pit.

Society
With the finest of the ogre warriors holding the largest sums of mud-metal, some bits do find their way into the bull populace.  These bits are commonly used for currency within the tribe to outfit weapons, barter goods, food, gnoblars, and the like.  Another tendency these bits cause amongst the bulls is bloody duels on the outer rinks of the Pit.  The loser forfeit their life and their bits of mud-metal, all that remains beyond that is fed into the Pit.  In personal disputes it is not too uncommon for the vanquished ogre's gnoblar to be sacrificed to the pit.

Rules Questions and FAQs / Ratling Guns, quick question
« on: May 21, 2009, 08:40:19 PM »
I spotted in a thread on the Stronghold that mentioned this unit being changed from its 6th ed rules.  I've been unable to locate anything in the Skaven FAQ on this.

Do ratling guns still follow the 6th ed rules on how they fire/hit?

Thanks.
