The Butcher's Cauldron / Chaos Ogre (finished... or is it?)
« on: Mar 28, 2006, 06:50:24 PM »
I made a Chaos Ogre just the other day (it has been mentioned twice in other threads :D) only I doubt I'll ever use it.  It's a shame cuz I ripped apart one of my other ones to make it  :?  Oh well.  I'm really happy with it in any case.  The most GS I've ever done on a model and most of it's halfway decent!   :o  Chuffed? Damn right I am.

It's got the horned skull from the bulls set on its head as you can see.  Arm is off a Fenbeast, head is sculpted even though you can't see it (it's got little mandibles and its well cool), "cloven" boots sculpted and leaning forward into a charging pose.  Little rings piercing its back also sculpted but they're a bit messed up.  Feedback and painting tips appreciated! :D

Cheers,
Jazz

The Butcher's Cauldron / OTHER armies
« on: Mar 06, 2006, 08:15:13 PM »
Hello everyone, I personally would like to see a few more pics of other armies that you play!  I love to see whole armies, as I know many of you do, but we see enough ogres on this forum (if that's possible   ) ! Show us your other armies, maybe we'll uncover some hidden gems here.  To start the ball rolling, here's some of the armies I've painted in the past, bearing in mind that I tend to get to about 750 points and get bored...

My 40k CSM Night Lords army, sans stupid winged helmets!

And a few pics from my Orc and Goblin army.  Mainly goblins, though, and painted over a period of about 6 years.  Now sold.  :?

The Butcher's Cauldron / 4 Painted Orks
« on: Feb 06, 2006, 11:20:53 PM »
Here's 4 painted Orks.  I tried to make em really really bloody and I think I managed it.  Which is good.  They're all running too (cut the legs) for more dynamism.  The big guns are just heavy bolters.  Don't think I've dont enough to em yet though.  Once again I stuck to my limited pallette technique (see my ogres) with the colours being:  Dark brown, light brown, metal, green, black and red, and I think they turned out great.  I've got another 6 or 8 (I forget) to paint, might take a while cuz I'm slow. Oh yeah and before anyone complains I've not done the bases yet (duh  :) ), so does anyone have any ideas on how I could make em look good?  Colours etc.  I need more primer and more Orks (These are all old models I ripped apart).  Discuss.  :o

This army, for lack of a better word, of pirate-themed ogres has taken me over a year to complete.  I got the batallion last christmas and a maneater about 3 months ago.  Painted all the ogres relatively quickly, leaving the gnoblars till last.  BIG MISTAKE    Don't do what I did, kids, and paint your gnoblars first.  Well anyway, here it is.  See my album at http://photobucket.com/albums/v238/Borgol/?sc=3 if you're interested, you can see them during and pre-painting on the earlier page.  Follow the development of my army from it's conception!  8)

(You will note that a picture of my hand-knitted iPod sock is included.  A cookie goes to the one who can tell what video I'm watching!  :D )

The Butcher's Cauldron / Dynamic Orks
« on: Jan 14, 2006, 07:06:35 PM »
I've been playing around with a load of 40K Ork sprues I was given about a year or two ago.  I started gluing them together and made a kinda decent looking squad with a few cool mutations, but that's not what this thread's about.  Today, after finishing the last gnoblars in my Ogre army (yay) I started wondering what to do next.
I cut and repositioned the legs of these orks into a running pose and sut and repositioned one or two of their arms.  Only done these three so far because I'm lazy.  I'm going to cover them in blood so they look properly scary, great stuff.  What do you think?
