Dood, you'll be fine. Elves are like a light snack before dinner; hopefully a dragon shows up to give you a challenge, and for dinner

I'd say put maybe 2 packs of ironguts, jc you'll need diversity in case of chariots and cav, eh?

Heffa - Very great idea going on here, conversion opportunities aplenty! I love trolls too, not sure what it is, maybe just the models themselves...good luck and hope to see some pictures!

Sterling - Killer little teaser story, Ogie!

And btw, army list seems very good, standard nothin special but solid nonetheless.

Well Sunday was delayed by bad weather here in PA, we got hit with a Noreaster which is a bad storm of sleet, ice and snow that only happens in northeastern US. Eric and I made it over Jared's house but only with enough time to finish up a few gnoblars and take pictures. I will be posting them soon...

Last night I slipped on a patch of ice in the parking lot outside my apartment, and after the wife drove me to the ER here I sit painfully typing this...I injured my shoulder and neck, an MRI is pending (no bone breaks luckily...).

So while range of motion is limited, I can still use my hands which means maybe I can start converting those models to Nurgle soon.

Now where is that Perkaset?

Good Report! I think you did the best thing possible, that is finding the best guy and playing him. That way you can learn from his skillful playing and your mistakes...and your good moves too :D Vamp counts are tough, I used to own them a while back and beat some arse with them time and again. Can you find out what Vampire bloodline he had? You said he made some ghouls, i think that's special to a certain type of vampire but i can't remember.

Keep up the good work!

Ogres - thanks for all the help thusfar.

So lose the hunter...should I replace it with a bruiser?

And lose the giant...I assume replace that with the 2 afformentioned gorgers.

My initial though was the hunter was going to just what his name implies, hunt; As in hunt mages and stuff...but its pretty plain to see that by the time he got into range or sight that he would be a goner.

Well, butchers are still in the horizon ya'll, I'm trying to stay away just to see, but more and more I can see their apparent value. Are 2 enough in a 2000 pts. Army?

Thanks again,

Sir Ogreriffic.

wow good point though, I'll leave that to the experts; that's too complicated for my Ogre brain... :)

Armies of the Kingdoms / 2000 Pts. Non-Magic?

Am I stupid for not putting Butchers into my 2k list? I'm not sure yet. My friend did send me a nasty text when he learned I had no magic, and he is playing Skaven with a Greyseer and all this other nasty stuff. But I think brute force can prevail, don't you? So please check out this list and leave some feedback, and anyone who has tried this, tell me your strategy and thought process...Keep in mind also that this is Non-Competetive.

Give your Leadbelchers Bellowers if you have the spare points, they are part of your flee tactic, so an extra when rallying is allways welcome. (*edit: if I can remember correctly they can also reload their weapon when fleeing so they can fire it again in the game, is that correct?)

I think they have to stand still for one whole round. Pretty sure fleeing doesn't allow this...

Try this version of your list, it seems a bit more solid.  After a few games tweaking it will be a bit easier, but you should do well.

Well Sunday is the day, gonna mosey on over to Jared's house and finish putting together my 500 points. I've decided today also that I will probably start sprucing up my already built ogres and try to Nurglefy them...<---new word  ;)

A close friend Eric has also been inspired by my project and the Nurgle army by Mentag, and has agreed to lend Jared and I his Nikon d80, which is one bad a** camera. We will start documenting our progress so all y'all can lay some eyes on it. Not the craziest most talented stuff in the world, but I really need feedback on this. Oh yeah, and Eric also wants to get some models to start building and playing...booyah! And a sidenote, I also got Eric into painting in general, on canvases that is. I went with him to the craft store and helped him get all the basics needed to paint acrylics. Is there hope still in this world???

Look for pics soon Ogeys!

Just a few things...Is this a Khorne inspired giant? Also, what's the model from? Is it the box set or Forge World? And lastly, people are referencing other things you have done, where can I find those things? Wow I am out of the loop...

OMG Mentag, you are the MAN! That army is amazing. So friggin amazing!

Ok, I'll calm down. Quite inspiring. I'm at work now, so later I will browse through your army and get a full night to sit and finish your 15 pages of nurglieness.

Very cool. So is it more useful in 40k or have you found uses in Fantasy?

Your a writing machine!

Thanks for not taking offense to my painting comments, and being so open in general. I believe it's the only way to go when it comes to improving your artistic ablilities. Geez, I have a long way to go with my painting as well. I haven't even posted anything yet...

Keep it up.

I I may ask, Tamiya Smoke? Hrm? Do tell.

Oh yes, and quite a nice job thus far. I enjoy the simplicity in the color scheme.

Just notes to myself for the background fluffiness...

How would Nurgle infest an ogre tribe? Maneaters! While mercanaries for various armies, some of them contracted some type of disease? Maybe it buried itself deep within only to emerge once the maneaters got back to the tribe, spreading itself the way nurgle does best! I think I got something to work with...

Very impressive, and if it has to do with chaos corruption, then you have won me over!

Waiting for the paint job!

I will soon be posting my Nurgle ogres pictures, so if you want company you've got it! I started a Pestilence Ogre Blog, but no pics yet...Keep up the good work...

Well the painting on the pistoliers is amazing...no improvement there imo. Unfortunately the models, nay, the horses are boring. When I had Empire that was one of my pet peeves, was the boring-ness of the friggin horses! Experiment maybe? maybe convert the back legs of the horse so it looks like its bucking or something more dramatic? Otherwise the pistolier himself looks very cool. Diggin the Halbadiers too, esp. some of the guys in back ranks with beards and stuff, they have a very neat look like they are looking elsewhere and they convey emotion too...

Great blog! You have quite a nack for writing, and your battle reports and whatnot are pretty darn good. And since you DID ask us to leave all comments, then I should also say your painting skills are still coming along...but on a positive note your gorger you just posted has shown tons of improvement! I think where my eyes aren't happy is the one basic color thing. like on skin its all the same color, therefore not giving our eyes a sense of depth; everything blends together. Also the colors are very vibrant and primary, where as more muted colors tend to do better in Fantasy. The gorger tends to have a bit more depth, like a darker color in the crevices and lighter green outside. Keep that up!

I also noted that even you said you are more of a strategist than an artist, so I will lay off at this point...(sorry, it's my Fine Arts degree getting in the way!)

Keep up the hard work, as you are showing signs of improvement everywhere because of the great blog you are maintaining. I'm trying to be the same!

 I just discussed that last night with the friend I am working with on this project, and we both decided that while painting them green would make them look like orcs, it would make them look more like The Incredible Hulk! What's worse? We had a good laugh.

What I plan on doing is giving them some sores and open wounds by sparingly placing some greenstuff here and there on their bodies, then painting it pinks and reds. The rest of the skin I haven't decided yet, maybe pallid flesh or something pale, or a sickly brownish shade to contrast the red pallette.

Sunday the 16th I will be getting together with my friend, Jared, to finish assembling my 500 pts. Remember this is not uber-competetive...but this is exactly what I have points-wise:

Bruiser
Great Weapon
Bullgut                - 172
Heavy Armor

4 Bulls
Add. Hand Weapons     - 156

2 Leadbelchers     - 110

25 Gnoblar Fighters      - 50

So in retrospect I should somehow figure out how to get 2 units of 3 bulls each...but the conflict I find is that I want a general sampling right now of everything, which is why I added Gnoblars, of whom I think are not that impressive except for being a body to hold up enemy troops while the big boys get into position...

Ahh, MSU, got it. I have been thinking about their effectiveness in this manner since I layed eyes on the army book...they are still quite beefy and can do something extra before CC...quite good. I guess only playtesting will tell the truth!

24
they definitely look nifty...are they available in the US? I dont have any euros on me right now ...Or can i get them from the UK site?

By MSU do you mean Main Special Unit? Just a guess, but by the context I figured thats what it meant. If so, I have contemplated that, but can only bear fielding no more than 2 units of 2 in 2k pts.
